K2 Space, founded in 2022 and headquartered in Torrance, California, designs and manufactures the largest, most powerful ultra-high-power satellite platforms of the NewSpace era. The company's Mega Class satellite buses deliver up to 20 kW of payload power and 3,000 kg of payload mass, targeting missions across LEO, MEO, GEO, and cislunar space for commercial, scientific, and defence customers.
The company has scaled rapidly. It now employs over 300 people and operates a 180,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility where roughly 80% of each satellite is built in-house through vertically integrated production. K2 Space successfully launched its first satellite to orbit in March 2026 and is targeting production of hundreds of satellites per year.
K2 Space has secured over $1 billion in contracts and raised more than $500 million in funding to date. The firm's platforms aim to deliver ten times the power of conventional constellation-class satellites, positioning it in the growing market for high-capacity spacecraft serving defence, commercial, and scientific missions.
